[By Telegraph.— Press Association] WELLINGTON, To-day. In the Supreme Court Collins and .Jolm Douglas, two young men, were sharg^d with robbing and assaulting a young man named Gresham White. The prisoners were found guilty, and sentenced to two years' hard labor each. Ernest Gundlacb, for larceny of a clock from the Imperial hotel, was convicted and sentenced to two years' imprisonment. HOKITIKA, To-day. In the Supreme Court Mrs Hayen, charged with arson, and Mitchell, with perjury, were acquitted. DUNEDIN, To-day. In the Supreme Court the criminal libel case brought by Dr. King against Sidney Maxwell was continued. The caee for the prosecution having closed, Mr Woodhouse for the defence said there was no feeling against Dr. King. The statements were perfectly fair, and made in the honest motive to have the so-called abuses sifted. The public did nob know nil thab went on in the asylum. He said that proper entries of the affairs in the institute were not kept. Three witnesses and the defendant gave evidence th«it they had seen maggots in a sore in the leg of one of the patients. The case is proceeding. The directors'of the Kaitangata Railway and Coal Co. have declared a dividend at the rate of 17£ per cent per annum, and passed a sum of LSOO to be distributed amongst the miners, carrying forward L 2826 to next year, after writing off a liberal sum for depreciation of mine and plant.
