The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Dingadee (Capt. Gibbs) reached here from North at 9 this morning, bringing : — Mrs and Miss Johnston ; Messrs Prouse, Wilson, Parker, Jackson, Bisset, Farrand, May, Medhurst, Ward, Single, Beatson, Breignan, and Wi Ngaia. She proceeded ou to Napier and Wellington at 4 p.m. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Oreti left Wellington at 2 p.m. yesterday, and is expected to arrive here to-morrow morning. She proceeds on to Coast ports and Auckland at S a.m. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Tekapo leaves Auckland at 5 this evening, and is expected to arrive here early on Sunday morning. She proce«ds South at 3 p.m. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Tarawera, from Southern p©rts and Melbourne, arrives here on Sunday morning. The s.s. Pukaki replaces the s.s. Ohau on this Oamaru-Timaru trip, and does not call at Gisborne. The topsail schooner Awaroa (Captain Urquhart), from Tairua, with 51,000 feet of timber, arrived in the Bay this morning. The Awaroa left Tairua on Wednesday evening last, and experienced thick dirty weather on the trip down. The brigantine Aratapu (Captain Cranch) arrived in the Bay this morning from Newcastle with a cargo of 171 tons of coal, consigned to Messrs Kennedy and Evans. Capt. Cranch reports having left Newcastle on the 22nd nit. Fine weather was experienced on the run over, -with a steady S. to S.E. breeze. The Aratapu came by the north, and last Sunday, when off the East Cape, she encountered the recent southerly gale which was then blowing with hurricane force, the vessel having to lie hore-to for a time, after which she fell in with light northerly breezes, which brought her into the Bay. The schooner Gisborne (Capt. Page) left Napier last night with a load of timber and posts for this port.
