Q. . GISBORNE ITEMS. [FROM OUU O"WN CORRESPONDENT.] Napier, to-day. Afc a meeting of the Education Board yesterday, Mrs Bull's resignation as headmistri ss of the Gisborne school was accepted. A successor is to be advertised for. The closets in the girls' play ground are to be removed in accordance wifch the committee's request. A new kitchen range for the master's residonce was applied for, but tho Board deoided thafc the old one should be mended. Mr Skeet's tender for fencing the master's house (L 42 10s), and Mr Hall's tender for painting fche school (Ll3 6s 6d), were accepted. The whole of fche exterior of the infant school is to be painted. In respecb to an application for new blinds for the classroom the matiter was deterred. An applioation was received from Tiniroto for a school. There were twenty children of school age, and a number of others would be old enough fco attend next ; yenr. Several Maoris also desired their I children to attend, and as the Gisborne J Native sohool was full tho Board considered thab theapplication was a desorving one.
