Father O'Dwyer, of Limerick, has been sentenced to tive months' imprisonment for an offence under the Crimes Act. Obituary : H. B. Farnio, tho wellknown writer of extravaganzas and librettos. PARIS, Sept. 23. The Government victory is regarded as certain. The latest returns of elections held yesterday give 192 Republicans, 3G lioulangista, and 17 Tories. There will bo numerous second ballots, including M. M. Floquet, Roehefort, Naqufit, and Boulanger himself. The latter's final election is regarded as doubtful. There was great excitement over the elections, but no disorder has yet been reported. M. M. Rouvier, Meline, and Thevenet, Ministers, have been elected, also La Guerre, a prominent Boulangist. M. Goblet was defeated. So far the election has resulted in the return of 287 Republican candidates while the supporters of other parties have secured 1(!8 seats. There will be 120 second ballots, and out of it is expected 89 will be favorable to the Republicans.
