The Masonic Convention.

Wellington, last night. The whole of the afternoon's sitting of the Masonic Convention was devoted to committee ■work, in discussing articles of the Union. Satisfactory progress is being made. The greatest unanimity prevails, and it is expected the proceedings will lie brought to a close this evening. Wellington, to-day. The Masonic Convention concluded its meeting last night, when the basis offunion agreed upon for submission to the Grand Lodge was mainly similar to that proposed by the Central Executive, but with some new clauses added. Every article was thoroughly discussed and practically decided, and in each case the Convention was unanimous, no division being called for at any time. It was decided to leave the establishment of District Grand Lodges optional. A hearty vote of thanks was given to the Ch lirman, Bio.* Oillon, and Secretary Bro. Robertson. At the conclusion those present enrolled themselves members of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. Bro. Hamerton was elected treasurer.
