PARLIAMENTARY.

(FHOII Of II O\V>" (JOfIRESPOXDEN'T. )

Wellington*, last night

A r.ither unusual course was adopted at a meeting of tho Opposition held to-day. It was agreed that upon the next occasion of going into supply, the leader (Mr Ballance) should move a resolution affirming the desirability of immediate dissolution of Parliament. This intention was CvJinnumicated to the Premier, but no intimation has been made how it will be regarded by Ministers. It was supposed likely to dovelop into a no - confidence motion, but the Premier, I learn, does not look upon it as a hostile motion, indeed, he might accept it. The movement is a singular commentary upon the barrenness of the session just closing. It is said that Ministers recognise the futility of expecting that the present House will transact any real business should it assemble for another session. This is severe criticism. If tho Government accept the motion, they will insist that the Registration of Electors Bill shall pass before Parliament is prorogued. The Opposition passed a vote of confidence in Mr Ballance as leader. To-day. The Native Land Court Bill was considered in Committee in the House ab an early hour this morning. No amendments were made of any importance. The Committees resumes to-day for consideration of the new clauses. The Committee on the impounded honorarium report in favor of action towards protecting the privilege of Parliament. The Premier proposed a declaratory Bill on the subject, but this \va.i not agreed to, as the resolution of the House should be sufficient. Sir John Hall was against any action being taken that would interfere with the authority of the Supreme Court.
