♦ \Vkt,lt*gton, today. It is understood that the rifle to be adopted by the Government will be a repeating one of the Lee pattern, and with a's tine bore. The bullet used in the olasß of weapon to be adopted is eaid to be quite original, and ii encased with steel. The advantage to be gained is that the bullet is not flattened out or affected in tha alightesf degree on striking the object. It is also considered prebable th»ta Military Board of five numbers will shortly be established in the colony, and that among the members will be th-' Defenc-' Minister, Major Cionxra 1 hitmore, General Schaw, and Mtj<T Boddam.
