SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.
The Union Co. 'a s.s. Muraroa (Capfc. Jaa. Edie) irrived from Auckland at 3. .15 p.m. She goes on South this evening, the laat launch ieaviug the wharf at 7 p.m. The s.B. Suva (Capt. Spicks) arrived from North at 6.30 p.m. yesterday, bringing Mrs James and family (3), and Sergt. Turton. She proceeded on South it 9.30 p m., taking Messrs Stagpoole, Skelton, and Howitt, and the Circassian troupe. -. Thpjß.B. Tarawera arrives from South on 'Sunday morning early. She proceeds on to Auckland and Sydney, the laat launch leav. ing the wharf at 9 a.m. The s.s. Ohau will arrive from South late to-morrow night, and sail for Tauranga and Auckland at 9 a.m. on Monday. New arrangements have been made for performing the coastal service by the Union Co.'a steamers Suva and Australia. There are six ports aud the Suv.i on her North and South trips calls at three— ToK.g.i, Tuparoa, aud Hicks' Bay. The Australia ruuni-g North every other week calls at Tokomatu, Awanui, and Waipiro, visiting the same places on her down trip. The monthly practice of calling at all porta will be uiacontinued. The change ha 3 been made owing to the increased amount of Ccirgo shipped for the Coast since the service was started, and' the delay occasioned to the steamers when having to call at perhaps all six ports. The Suva leaves here on Friday next for Tologa, luparoa, Hicks' Bay, anci Auckland,, whilst the Australia leaves Aiick land on Tuesday next, for Gisborue vk; Waipiro, Awanni, and Tokomaru, arriving here on Thursday afternoon. The s.s. Tarawera on her passage fiom the Bluff to Hoba'rfc had very atonry weather for several days, anil on the 7th mat. she "had to heaVe to from 7 a.m. till noon. She however sustained no damage of any description and proved herself a splendid sea boat. The Auckland Star has a new shipping reporter and he got merry on Monday laat, when he wrote : — "The schooner Gisborne, which left this port on Thursday laat, made the trip to Gisborne in eight hours. It is scarcely necessary to say that she had something like a gale behind her." The Gisborne reached Mercury Bay iv eight hours, and is expected here at the end of next week. • 'The schooner Waiwera left Auckland nine days ago for Gisbof no via Tairau.
