THE IMPENDING WAR.
ENGLAND APPREHENDS IMMEDIATE WAR. FEARS OF GENERAL BOUL ANGER. GERMANY WANTS EXPLANATION. London, Jan. 24. The Daily News to-day publishes a statement to the effect that the Imperial Government has apprehensions that a war between France and Germany is imminent ; and it reports that Germany will shortly demand from France an explanation of the massing of troops on tho frontier. It ia feared that General Boulanger's popularity among the French, taken with his well-known views, will precipitato a clamor for a war by France. Paris, Jan. 23. The popularity of General Boulanger, the Minister of War, is exciting the jealousy and fears of the moderate party in the Cabinet as well as the Press. The Extremists eulogise effusively the patriotism and vigor which he has displayed.
