Sydney, to-day. An intercolonial cricket match befnvoon team,? of,.Victori:i and New South Wales -was commenced' this morning. A one hundred and iifty yards race between Hutchins, tho English pedestrian, and Malone, the sprint runner, took place ou Saturday, and resulted in a victory for the former. The time was 14 3-5 sees. In the Intercolonial Yacht Race on Saturday, on the inside course, the Auckland built yacht Waitangi beat the Janet and Magic by her time allowance. Wellington, to-day. The annual regatta was held on Saturday and was very successful. In the morning the wind was too light but the breeze freshened at noon. Pet won the second-class, and Iris the third-class yacht race. In the big event (first-class yacht race) the order was Isca, Florence, and Xarifa, and the Isca won easily. The rowing races were confined to local clubs, and were well contested. A crickot match was played on the recreation ground on Saturday afternoon between teams picked from married and single, but owing to a misapprehension the result was unsatisfactoiy. Matthews, N.Z. boxing champion, has retired from the fa'stic arena.
