Mr Haggitt, in his opening, said he would endeavor to show the effects were similar -$ c in this case to another case of attempted poisoning. Mr Chapman objected, saying at the proper stage he would contend that such evidence was inadmissible. His Honor thought it undesirable to mention it, and upon Mr Haggitt urging that he was justified, said there was no need for discusßion on the point, and he was satistied hia ruling was correct.
