ATHLETICS.
A telegram from Sydney to-day says : — "An intercolonial cricket match, New South Wales versus Victoria, has been postponed owing to the haavy rain." The usual Saturday matches on the recreation ground were resumed again this afternoon, a match between the married and single men being played. The teams were to bo picked from the following : — Married : Arundel, Aislabie, Bellera, xJallantyne, Croft, Chrisp, Evans, Mountier, Innes, Nolan, Porter, W. L. Rees, Thelwall, and Witty. Single : Bull, Booth, Cato, Johnstone, Lewis (2), Lysnar, A. W. Rees, Pavitt, Staite, Valpy, 0. J. Veale, N. 0. Veale, and Wyllie.
