A FATAL BOAT ACCIDENT.

TWO PERSONS DROWNED. Wellington, to-day. A fatal accident occurred in the harbor yesterday. Four men, employed in the woollen factory, named Walter Ranisden, Edward Taylor, Henry Kaye and Henry Evans, left Petone at 6 30 in an open sailing boat with the intention of proceeding to Pencarrow lighthouse. After passing Soame's Island the wind increased and they decided to put back. In bringing the boat about she capsized. Ramsden, Evans, and Taylor regained the boat but Kaye was washed a distance away. One of the men swam to his assistance and brought him to tho boat, but he soon became exhausted and was drowned. Half-an-hour later Evans was also exhausted and was washed off the boat and drowned. The other two cluncj to the bottom of the boat which was washed ashore at Ward's Island and a passing fishing boat rescued the survivors, and brought them to fcoj?/n. The deceased were about; 50 years of age. Evans was a married man and leaves a wife d\\d o children who reside at Fctonu. Kayo's wifo and two children are in England. Thy bodies have not been recovered.
