THE CAIN POISONING.
♦ Bluff, to-day. Mm Newton arrived by the Waihora from Melbourne on Tuesday to give evidence against Hall re the poisoning of Captain Cain. A detective interviewed her, but she was very nervous, and seemed unable to give any evidence of importance. Timaru, to-day. Hall, the prisoner charged with the murder of Captain Cain, arrived from Lyttleton last night in the custody of Warden Brien. Mrs Newton, Captain Cain'c daughter, also arrived at Timaru, and will give evidence at the adjourned hearing to-day^ Wellington, to-day. It is understood that in the event of Hall being committed for trial on a charge of murder no objection will be offered to a change of venue being applied for to Dunedin.
