Sydney, this day. A match was commenced here on Saturday between the English cricketers and a local Eleven. The former went in first, and were all put out for 205. The highest scorers were Barnes, c, 33 ; Bates, b, 68, and Attewell, c, 27. When play ceased for the day the home team had lost 2 wickets for 21 runs. The match was resumed yesterday morning, when the first innings of the home team closed for CO. They therefore followed on, and when stumps were drawn for the day had lost 1 wicket for 42. The wicket was heavy owing to the recent rains, the visitors bowling dead on. The match was resumed to-day. The following are the names of the home team : C. Bannerman, Downs, Evans, Garrett, Huddlestone, Jones, Maze, Nun, O'Hanlon, Pope and Tower. Dunedin, this day. The 24 hours walking match between Scott, of Dunedin, and Hancock, the English ped., resulted in an easy win for Scott, who covered 114 miles. Hancock gave up at 100 miles, when he was 7 miles behind. • Christchtjrch, this day.At the interprovincial cycling contest Langdon (Christchurch) won the mile championship, F. Cutten (Dunedin) was second, and Baldwin (Dunedin) third. The five-mile race was won by W. A. Thomson (Christchurch), A. Warren (Christchurch) second, and Godfrey (Christchurch) third. In the three mile handicap Saville (Christchurch), 900 yds, was first, Langdon (Christchurch), scr, gscond, Baldwin (Dunedin), third. Ten mile race : Baldwin (Dunedin), 450 yds, first, F. Cutten (Dunedin), scr, second, Fulton (Dunedin), 650 yds, third. Time, 84 mins. 45 sees. The race was left to the visitors, the Christchurch men not competing.
