There was not a large attendance. The following were elected : — Messrs C. Evans (Chairman), David Lougher, J. D. Watts, Thomas Wren, H. Beaufoy, F. Carrington, Karapa Ruatapu. This is the old Committee with the exception of Mr C. Rice, who has left the district, and who is replaced by Karapa. He has undertaken to work up the natives to send their children, and the Committee have agreed to do their utmost to facilitate the attendance of Maori children.
