PRESENTATION.
♦ The members of the Giaborne Rowing Club met on Saturday evening at the Argyll Hotel to present thoir captain (Mr VV. Ratcliffe) with a souvenir on the eve of his approaching marriage. Mr E. H. The presentation consisted of a handsome dressing case, silver mounted, and was accompanied by an address beautifully illuminated by Mr G. Morrow in the colors i-f the Club (black and gold). The address was as follows: — "To Win. Ratcliffe, Captain G.R.C.— Dear Sir,— Allow us, on behalf of the members (honorary and active) of the Gisborne Rowing Club, to offer you our sincere congratulations on the occasion of your marriage, and to assure you of the kindly feelings entertained towards you by all of us. Permit us to request your acceptance of the accompanying souvenir as a slight token of the esteem in which you are held by us all. Wishing yourself and Mrs Ratcliffe long life and happiness, we remain, yours sincerely, Joseph Oreswell, G. Morrow, E EL. Pavitt, A. Barnes, A. E. Allom, Committee G.R.C."
