In the House of Commons this afternoon, on the motion of Sir Stafford Northcote, Charles Bradlaugh was released from the custody of the Sergt-at-Arms. The Court of Appeal has discharged the writ of error in the Tichbome case, and the claimant consequently remains in custody. The Avrit proposed to set aside the judgment passed upon the claimant on the ground that it wrongfully imposed two cumulative sentences for same offence. June 26. In the House of Commons, Mr. Gladstone in answer to a question said the Government would reconsider the position of Bradlaugh's case. A resolution in favor of stopping Sunday trading has been passed by the House. In the House of Lords the Deceased Wife's Sister Marriage Bill, was thrown out. WASHINGTON. June 25. In consequence of the retirement of Tilden, the Democratic Convention has chosen Hancock as a candidate for President, and English for Vice-President. CONSTANTINOPLE. June 25. Efforts at mediation between the Albanians and Montenegrins have proved unsuccessful, and the Albanians have commenced re-arming troops to prevent the Montenigrins obtaining territory ceded by the Berlin Treaty. BUENO AYRES. June 25. An encounter has taken place between a body of armed civilians and a force of Argentine provincial troops, who are in open rebellion, and were besieging the city. After heavy fighting the troops were completely routed by the i civilians.
