He won the first prize in 1869 as a yearling, beating two-year-old horses. In 1871, as three-year-old, he also carried off the first prize against aged horses. In 1872 he carried off the second prize, being beaten only by President, one of the three newly-imported horses. In 1875 he tt-ok the Silver Cup for the best DRAUGHT ENTIRE at the Poverty Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show.
