ELECTORS, BEWARE!
[To the Editor of the Hkkald.] Sir,— Will you kindly permit me through the medium of your columns to ask a gentleman who attended Mr. McDonald's meeting at Makaraka last evening, what motive he had m stating that tive supporters of the Grey Ministry had aireidy been returned as against one Opposition ? Wiien making the statement he said, " I will give you the names," but when he recovered from his dream, he could not remember, not even with the support of hia numerous friends. The fact is, that there are four Opposition i>gainst four Grey's, returned ; three of the Opposition for old seats, and one for a Government seat, viz., Invercargill, notwithstanding all Sir George Grey's endeavours to secure his man's return. I trust that before this gentleman attends another meeting m order to induce the electors, to support the Grey candidates, that he will speak by the book, and not resort to measures which have ever characterised the Ministry he supports — that of deceiving the innocent and confiding people. — I am &c, Truth.
