PROSPECTUS PF THE GISBORNE STEAM SASH, DOOR, AND MOULDING COMPANY (Limited), (To be Registered under tho Joint Stock Companies Act.) CAPITAL : . * • - £10,000, in 5000 Shares of £2 each. PROVISIONAL DIRECTORY— Mr. C. D. Berry Mi. W. O. Skbet Mb. A. Paknell Mr. George Hughes Mr. John Warren Mr, W. P. Finneran* Mr. John Sombrvell. BANKERS : Bank op^ New Zealand. SOLICITOR : Mr. J. T. E. Rogan. SECRETARY: Mr..S. J. Bromley. rpHE object of the promoters, of this I Company is .to place upon tho market a manufactured article equal in quality to any imported, thereby retaining in the district the cnpital which is being annually sent away, viz., about £10,000 ; of which probably one half represents the labor employed in towns in New Zealand other than Gisborne, and, in Borne case3, in America. To secure the retention of so large an amount of profitable employment for local workmen should, in itself, be a great inducement to give to this enterprise ; for the carrying out of which the erection of suitable machinery will be necessary, and a continuous supply of timber and other raw material required in the business, must be provided. It is proposed to purchase or take over the business and plant of Mr. John Warren, known as "The Gisborne Steam Joinery Works," at a valuation, upon the following terms, as follows, viz : half cash and half in p'aid up shares in the Company, and to procure a steam engine of greater power, with sundry other matters of plant— to enlarge the present work shop, thus providing power and space for. the continued increase of business. Those matters, together with the preliminary expenses of floating and forming the Company, (unless for the purposes of a largely-increased trade) will not require more than two-thirds of the proposed capital to be called up. It is proposed to call up one-fourth of the capital during the first six months, viz. : 4s per share on application, and 6s on allotment ; 10s during the following three months ; and the balance, if required, in calls of 5s each, at intervals of no less than three months. To builders this project should commend itself, for the two-fold reasons of economy of time and expense. Woodworking Companies have, as a rule, been eminently successful in New Zealand, and their dividends, have been steadily increasing during the past ten years. In the present instance work can be commenced immediately when the required capital is subscribed, therefore the money will, not remain for an any time unemployed. The site upon which the present factory stands is held under lease at a rental of £42 per annum, the unexpired term being 17 years. There is a right of way direct to the premises from both Gladstone and Palmerston Roads, and direct communication with the River, with every facility for erecting a wharf if at any time required. The Plant is in excellent working order. The average probable weekly expenditure for Wages, Mateiial, &c; is £200. This includes every class of material and labor to turn out the finished article. It is probable the weekly income will be about £250 per week ; leaving a clear profit of £60 per week, or 20 per cent, on the Capital proposed to be called up. As a considerable number of shares has already been taken up an early application fur the remainder is desirable. ONE POUND REWARD.
