DUNEDIN.
This Day. Horatio Roberts, an old hospital patient suffering from paralysis ; dropped dead in the street. Messrs. Cargill, Gibbs & Co. have received the following telegram from Helmuth, Schwartz & Co., dated London 23rd of May : — " Good tone prevails in wool sales. Prices for port Phillip and Sydney greasy, (wether) higher, particularly in medium wools, and for Adelaide and New Zealand greasy prices Unchanged, Px'ices for,, bulk fleece are depressed as at last sales, and improvement in pieces of cross- breds lately telegraphed are not maintained. Prices for superscoured are firm, while prices for port Phillip and Sydney superfine fleece are as low as at the end of last series. Trade with Germany is good, but rather flat in England and France.
