Thus Day. In the Divoi*ce Court at Wellington yesterday, decrees absolute for dissolution of marriage were granted m Digby v. Digby, Ohristchurch ; Matthews v. Matthews, Wellington ; Ryley v. Ryley. Dunedin ; George v. George, Wellington ; and Jeffrey v. Jeffrey, Christchurch. Evidence was taken m Henderson v. Henderson and Flynn (co-respon-dent), Auckland ; Harvey v. Harvey and Jones (co-respondent), Wellington ; and Carlson v. Carlson and Key (corespondent), Wellington. Decrees nisi were made m each case. All of them were on husband's petition, on the ground of their wife's adultery. The perjury case against J. G. Kinross, ia set down for hearing m the Wellington Police Court to-day. ■ A trial of a gas making apparatus for I lighting railway carriages, made m a carriage occupied by the Governor m going from the Hutt to Wellington, on Saturday proved most successful. The Post says it is rumored to be now under the consideration of the Cabinet to impose an Income Tax, and extend the present Land Tax by a graduated system, so as to reach large land owners rather than smaller proprietors.
