HEAVIEST EVER EXPERIENCED. GREAT ALARM. Napieb, This Day. One of the most severe shocks of earthquake which has ever been felt m Napier for some years, was experienced last night at a quarter to 11 o'clock. It had this distinguishment from other shocks which have been felt m recent years, — that it has produced an impression of alarm on the minds of people that something still more is to follow. The direction appeared to be from north to south. There was another shock at twenty minutes to 12. Auckland, Yesterday An accident occurred to the down train from Mercer to Auckland.
