ST. STEPHEN’S CLUB St. Stephen’s Women’s Social Club’s lirst meet ing for t lie \ear was held on Friday, when a huge gathering of old and new members were present. Mrs. S. Barrow, who presided, stated that the results of last year’s club work were very gratifying, the sum of ,7 being carried forward.
Ofiicers were elected as follows. — President, -Mrs. 11. Boyer; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames It. S. Barrow and C. -I. Dickie; secretary, Miss D. Dickie; treasurer, Miss C. Ncwlnnd; tea committee, Mesdames Hngg and R. Wy bourne and Miss Hopkinson; programme committee, Mesdames F. Sheppard, R. Wybourne and Campbell snr. It was decided to hold card, evenings and dances throughout the winter to assist the funds, and the following were appointed to lie in charge oi: the Cinderella dance:: Mesdames R. Wybourne, F. Sheppard and Campbell snr. Card evening arrangements were left in the hands of Mesdames H. S. Barrow, G. ,T. Dickie, S. Bromiley and A. G. Wallace and Miss A. Symes.
