CHILDREN’S FLOWER SHOW ' The children of Si. George’s Church .:c!< 1 the;i' tumual flower and decorative show on Saturday, the entries being larger than in previous years, over RIO being received. The exhibits were of a particularly high standard, equal in many eases to adults. T!;c flora! work was carried out by the children under the supervision of the stewards, Sirs. Tb Taylor and Miss G. Kelly. The teachers organised the show and Miss P. Kelly carried out the duties of secretary. Miss L. Bond was in charge of the refreshment stall, Miss K. Rook the produce and cakes, and afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. L. Honeyflel'd, Miss G. Bond and helpers. The prizes were distributed by the Rev. W. IT. Walton, who congratulated the children on their show, which he considered very fine, ’particularly the sowing handiwork and the section for children under 10 wears, in which exhibitors ns well as winners were as young as five years. He thanked the teachers for their work, and the parents who had backed their children up in their work, and who had attended the function. The judge for the flower scallion was Mrs. W. F. Shcikl, and for the handwork section, Mrs. G, Pettigrew.

A special prize donated by Mrs. W. E. Slieild iwas won by little Beryl Waterland, aged five years, whose,vase of flowers, "Mrs. Gheild considered one of ti e outstanding exhibits for a child so vonng.
