PATEA HOSPITAL BOARD
ORDINARY MEETING The ordinary monthly meeting of the Patca Hospital Board was held on Tuesday, Air. C. R. HoueyJiold presiding. Airs. A. A. Carey, Alessrs A. ,T. Gibbs, Watkins, Watt, Back and Campbell were also present. Correspondence was read us under. — CORRESPONDENCE Aliss IJ. Ei malic wrote asking what arrangements cud been made for \ .A. D. training at the hospital. It was suggested that trainees visit the hospital for a fortnight’s training. Airs. Carey moved that permission be granted accordingly. Gceonded by the chairman and carried. Alcssrs Dufdl and Gibson forwarded a sketch plan of a four-bed tuberculosis shelter at an approximate cost of £7Ol. The shelter rvould be 50 feet by 15 feet, and £ for £ subsidy would be provided by the Government. It was decided that the matter be deferred until the next meeting of the Board. An invitation was received from the chairman of the Centennial Committee for members and their wives to attend the opening of the Centennial Alomoriul on December 2nd. The invitation was accepted with thanks.
The medical superintendent reported that there were -27 patients in the hospital on October Ist. Patients admitted 55, died 2, discharged 41. Patients remaining in hospital on October B Ist. 00.
Tie matron reported that the month had been an exceptionally busy one, fho daily average of occupied beds bein..- 47.7. Sister Bishop returned from her annual leave on October 27th. Nurse Cov recommenced duties after her leave on October 7, and Nurse Bourke on October 20. Resignations were received from Alissos Handley. Smyth, Who!don and Armstrong, the two former leaving to commence training. They lave noi vet been replaced . Accounts were read and passed for pavment and the meeting vo<m.
