BIG CONTRACT LET
ERACTION OF PAPER MILL. VLXTUPK AT ,WH AKATANE. Contracts involving the expend it-uro df LEU),OOO for the erection of buildings and the installation of plant for Whakatane Paper Mills, Ltd., have been signed. 'The contract, which is one of the largest ever let for an industrial undertaking in New Zealand, includes the erection of buildings at a cost of £l-10,000. The installation of costly equipment will account for a large proportion of the remainder of the expenditure. The construction'' of a railway line to the site and a good deal of levelling has already been done and an immediate start will be made 'with the erection of the buildings.
