POLICEMAN’S DEATH
INJURY IN MOTOR ACCIDENT. ANOTHER MAN LOWES A LEG. Constable John Albert Elstonc, aged 45, who had been in charge of the Kawakawa police district from 1932, died in a private hospital at Auckland from blood poisoning following a double fracture of the left leg suffered on February 12, when a motor cycle ho was riding collided with am other motor cycle near Pakaraka. He Was a patient im the Bay of Islands Hospital until Monday, when ho -was brought to Aucldand. He leaves a wife and three children. The other cycle involved in flic accident was ridden by John Percy Johansen, who is still in hospital, one leg having been amputated.
