NOTES. The friends of Air. H. L. Thomas will regret to hear that at present he is ill and has been removed to the Patea Hospital. ■The last few days of fine weather have been good for the croquet members, who have been trying to get trophy matches played before leaving for holidays. Alessrs. Bremer and Sous, Wavorlcy, had an outstanding success with their ci;trLs in the slump section at the Taranaki A. and P. Show, now in progress at New Plymouth. They won both the nun and owe championships in the Lincoln, Southdown', and Romney Marsh classes', carrying off the Golden Flreco perpetual challenge shield for most points in the purebred sheep classes, for the sixth year in succession, and won the £5 5s trophy for most-points in the Romney Alarsh sheep classes.
