CROQUET.
T Un Monday the members of the Croquet Club held one of their most enjoyable competition afternoons. Apologies were received from several who were unable to bo present. Mrs. Parsons, Waitotara, wrote expressing her regret at being unable to be present, and also at having to retire from the competitions in view of her early departure for the Homeland. Golf croquet and skittles were the competitions arranged for the afternoon, and a very happy time was spent. The winners were: Skittles: Mrs. H. L. Thomas. Golf croquet: Miss Cheyno. A delicious aftcruoou tea was provided by the ladies and greatly enjoyed. Two very beautiful bowls of zinnias and alters adorned the table and afterwards gave great pleasure to a member who was on the sick list and to whom the flowers were very thoughtfully scut. Tho thanks of the club arc duo to Mrs. Mitaaifo and Miss Lupton, who kindly donated trophies for competition. It was unanimously decided that another Competition be held iu thic near future. A very useful shelter has been erected at No. 3 croquet lawn and should prove a welcome asset, as the lawn was the only one without a shelter from the suu.
