WAITOTARA
COMING-OP-ACrE PARTY. MISS THELMA HURLEY HONOURED. Over 100 friends and relatives from Hawera, Patca, and the- surrounding districts gathered in the Waitotara Hall on Eriday evening last to celebrate the couiing-of-agei of Miss Thelma Hurley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hurley. Mrs. Hurley received her guests attired in a blue floral marocain frock finished with a shoulder spray and Miss Hurley wore a handsome tunic frock of black satin and gold, the colours of which were' repeated in the hall decorations. The evening was spent with noA'clty dances and items. A feature of the evening was the bountiful supper, during which the usual toasts were honoured, Miss Hurley cutting her birthday cake amid applause. »Sho Avas accorded musical honours. ‘‘Auld Lang Syne ’ ’ brought an enjoyable evening to a dose. The popularity of Miss Hurley was evidenced by the beautiful and numerous array of gifts.
