ECONOMIC CONFERENCE ENDS
The World Economic . Conference, which was opened with such high hopes by the King ’ nearly seven weeks” ago, reached the final plenary session on July 27. The. conference closes with the hopes for a quick international panacea completely dissipated. Nevertheless there was a distinct note at tho final session that the nations could look forward to a continuation of the conference in the future, •when conditions .were more favourable.
All the puraphenalia provided for tho conference was brought into use.Press photographers and , cinematographers were busy, and an arc light was focussed on the. rostrum, but there were many vacant places.
