DISPLAY OF N.Z. LAMB
MANAWATU WINS SHIELD,
MEAT PRODUCERS’ BOARD COMPETITION.
A display of 800 lambs from seven districts of the North Island-, which were entered for the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board competition, attracted much attention by Smithheld crowds. Wholesalers and retailers inspected them and the consensus of opinion is that the quality and appearance are excellent.
The judges awarded the challenge shield for the best district to Manawatu. The prizes for the best pens were as follows: First pen (47), Wairarapa; second pen (20), Wairarapa; third pen (32), Manawatu.
