PATEA V. HAWERA,
Four rinks from Hawera visited the local green on Wednesday and played a friendly match with the local club. The visitors welcomed by the president. Mr. P. Bourkc, who said that the locuj club was always pleased to see the players from Hawera. He hoped they would find the green to their liking, and that they would have a good game. The green was in good order, but the wind made it tricky. The scores arc as follows, Hawera being mentioned first in each case: — Barlthrop, Tait, Robertson, Townslcy 26 v. Mercer, Dempsey, White, Paterson 16. Watts, Wills, Comack, Corkhill 24 v. Scown, Richards, J. Bourkc, P. Bourkc 23. Baker, Booten, Canning, Wicks 26 v. Dwyer, Lamb, Williams, Christensen 17. Champion, Campbell, Shaw, Robb 28 v. McKenna, Rev. Walton, Wainwright, Shcahan 26. Totals: Hawera, 103; Patca, 84. At the conclusion of the game, Mr. Townslcy, on behalf of the Hawera Club, thanked the Patca Club for a good day’s play, and the ladies for providing afternoon tea. He hoped that more friendly games would be played between the clubs. He then called for three cheers for the Patca Club and the ladies. At the call of Mr. Bourkc, three cheers were given for the *Hawcra Club.
