MAX' WI'TS WIFE’S THROAT. HO in: TOSSED INTO (LETT HR. A ghastly tragedy was enacted in the heart of Sydney in broad daylight on March +. Bert Debrett, aged 47, a returned soldier, who had been separated from his wife, caught her in the (bmlburn district, throw her across his knee, cut her throat with a razor, and tossed her into the gutter. She died without littering a sound. Debrett then gashed his own throat and died on the pavement within view of a number of people. The wife, aged 27, had been earning her own living as a waitress in a city ca IV.
