Mr. and Mrs. M. Tt, Tcnuet are on a holiday visit to Dunedin. It is stated (says the "Wanganui Chronicle") that Mr. A. H.’ Hiekford has been asked to contest .the Patea seat in the Labour interests. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. G. Thomson, together with their daughter Clarice and niece, Miss Luxton, returned on Tuesday from a holiday visit to Auckland. Mr. J. McCarty is making good progress after his illness. The many friends of Mr. Winchester, sen./ will be pleased to learn that' lie ■has now returned to business, after a prolonged illness, ' -
