PATEA FOURTHS v HAWERA FOURTHS

A friendly match was played at- the local Domain on Saturday last between the Patea and Hawera fourths, resulting in a victory for the Hawera boyd by 8 points to 3. The game was very even in the first spell, Patea leading by 3 to nil. In the second spell the Hawera backs showed their superiority, and gained 8 points. For the winners, tries were scored by Hulbert and Brown, Lay converting the latter's try Eockell scored a try, Luxton 'a kick just grazing the post. Mr Fred McKenna refereed.
