An innovation is about to be introduced by the New Zealand Shipping Co. by which the monotony of the run from the Dominion to Panama is to be broken by a call at Pitcairn Island on the Homeward run by their passenger liner Rotorua, to leave Wellington on October 6th. If the experiment proves successful the Remuera, sailing on November 17th, and the Ruahine, sailing on December 29th, both from Wellington, will also call at the island. Liners coming from Home to New Zealand frequently stop at Pitcairn, so that boat-loads of islanders can come aboard the vessel to sell fruit and curios. PACIFIC MAIL STEAMERS. Maunganui, at San Francisco. Due Wellington September 8 and Sydney September 14.
