ALTON NOTES.
UNVEILING OF WAR MEMORIAL. The unveiling of the Memorial to the boys from the Alton* district who fell in the Great War will take place on Anzac Day (to.morrow) at 2.30 p.m. Mr Jas. Gibbs, Chairman of the County Council, will preside at the function and the unveiling cereipony will be performed by Mr E. Dixon, M.P., who will afterwards deliver an address. The whole proceedings will take the form of a united religious service } being practically the same as that to be carried out at Patoa earlier in the day, as follows. ’ '
1. Hymn: “O God our help in ages past.” 2. Sentences from Burial-Services. 3. The Lord’s Prayer '(all joining);,,. Prayer from Burial Service. a 4. Psalm XC. and 1 Corinth., Chap verses' 51 to 58. 5. Hymn.— 11 Let Saints on Earth in Concert Sing.” 6. Address by Mr Jas. Gibbs. / 7. Unveiling of Memorial by Mr E. Dixon, M.P. 8. Last Post. 5. Dedicatory Prayer; Selection by Band, “Garland of Flowers. ” 11. Address. \ . 12. liver'll: “For ail the. Saints who from, their labours rest.” 13. Concluding Prayer. 14. National Anthem. 15. Benediction. ' All settlers in the district are asked to make a special point of being present so as to make the attendance worthy "of the occasion and to show that the people of Alton and surrounding dis. triet are not unmindful of the sacrifices made on their behalf.
