TAEANAKI CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY ROOTS. The Taranaki Rifle Association hs annual mooting was brought to a close on Friday, the championship being - Avon for the third time by D. Roots, of tho HaAvcra Club, Avith si score of 504, Rflmn Guy (Kaponga) being second Avi'th 257, and Pres. P. Palmer (Patou) third Avith 285: Rflmn. Roots avus in good form at the long ranges, lopping the list at both tho 000 and tho two 1000 yards shoots, thus Avinning the long range aggregate and also the championship.
