OBITUARY.

MR. WM. WATKINS.

The death occurred at Kohi, Wavevloy, pa Thursday morning last of Mr, Wm, Watkins, and old and respected settler of this district, at the advanced ago of 0(5 years.

The late Mr. Watkins was born in Wales in the year 1824. At the age of 15 he left England and came to Australia, whore he worked until the year 1851, when he crossed to Now Zealand, and spent some years as foreman on a sheep station at Napier, finally leaving that district and taking up land in this district, where he lived for 4(5 years. The deceased enjoyed the best of health until about three weeks ago, when his ripe age began to make itself felt. He was well known in the district, and was very highly respected by all who knew him, being of a particularly genial and kindly disposition. The deceased leaves a family of three sons and six daughters, viz., Messrs. W. H. Watkins (Wavcrlcy), R. A. Watkins (Napier), and B. M. Watkins (Kohi), Mrs Armstrong (Kohi), Mrs. Logan (Fcilding), Mrs. Burkett (Hamilton), Mrs. Nort-hcotc (Opunakc), Mrs E. Tremain (Auroa), and Mrs. Old (Wanganui). The deepest sympathy will be felt for the relatives in their bereavement. The funeral takes place at the Wavcrlcy Cemetery on Baturday, at 2 p.m.
