EVERYBODY’S PICTURES

Coniine Griffiths, the heroine of “The Climbers,” gives a demonstration of horse riding, boating, swimming, skating, and acroplaning amid magnificent scenes and gorgeous settings. It is a wonderful story of sports, society, finance, love, adventure, and the struggle for supremacy. There arc pretty love scenes, of course, and there arc intense dramatic situations that will hold the spectator spellbound, and a lighter vein interwoven to relieve the tension and bring out the force of the picture by striking contrast. NOTES. A good waitress is inquired for in this isue. Mr. Lonsdale, manager of the Moumoumahaki State Farm, in conversation with a Herald reporter, mentioned that this year he was carrying out several experiments in regard to the treatment of crops with manure. The results of the experiments would lie well worth a visit by district farmers. Mr. Lonsdale suggests that if farmers .arc not 100 busy, that either January or February would be an opportune time to inspect the farm and again in the autumn. The late potato crops at Moumahaki arc looking particularly well, but the earlier varieties, in keeping with many others in the district, were badly battered about by the wind and hail. No further information has been received as to when the Minister of Agriculture proposes to make his promised visit to the farm. In the meantime (he Minister is in the .South Island. A number of farmers in .the district arc anxious to meet the Hon. Nosworthy on tthc farm, and are hoping that he will come along at a time when they arc not at their busiest period.
