PATEA BOWLING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Patca Bowling Club was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday night, Mr. J. J. Holi'tinm presiding.

There war, :i fair attendance of members. An apology was received from Mr. Barnett for non-attendance. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed.

In moving the adoption of flic report the Chairman paid a feeling tribute to the memory of the late Mr. J. A. Coogan who would be greatly missed by members on the green. Mr. IT. B. Dean was re-elected Hon Auditor and Mr. J. F. llolloway dele g.,fe to the Centre.

Messrs Carey. Tliilbort, AV. Paterson O.msby, and Stephenson, wore elected a committee for the current year.

Messrs Ormsby and Carey were duly presented with- Mr. T. Death's tro ] " s.'-i for ihe Pairs Championship.

Mr. Hulbert and Mr. J. Paterson were presented with the Lowry Challenge Paii's trophies.

The Chairman sa.id it was the intention of the Club to present trophies to Messrs Booth and Johnston for their work on behalf of the Club, but the 1: opines had not yet arrived.

Mr. McKeniia said he would move (hat the Club place on record its warm appreciation of the valuable services rendered by Messrs Booth and Johnston. This was seconded by Mr. Paterson and carried unanimously. The Chairman said he would like to move that the Club show its appreciation of the late Secretary's services by electing him a life member of the Club.

This was seconded by Mr. Johnston id carried unanimously.

Mr. AVoods suitably replied, thanking members for the honour conferred upon him.

The ladies were granted the use of 'the green on the usual conditions. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the ladies, and especially the wife of Ihe President (Mrs. J. J. Iloltham) for assistance rendered during the past year.

On the motion of Mr. Stephenson a \>: L 'y hearty vole of thanks was also accorded to the President and officers for services rendered during the past year. Messrs B. G. Harding and 11. Par- ; tins as ere unanimously elected members of the Club.

Mr. Hulbert brought forward the (juestion of making better arrangements for playing the Club championships. The Chairman said he would move that it be a recommendation to the Centre that, the date of the Centre Championship be (ixed and announced some time beforehand. 'Phis would enable members (o have their championships completed in time.

Metssrs McKcnnn and Christensen spoke in support of Ihe suggestion that ihe Championships be arranged for on tournament lines. The resolution was then put and carried, and the meeting terminated ,-. ith ihe customary vote of thanks to the chair.
