"HONOUR THE BRAVE"

A MAYOR'S ADVICE Some excellent advice was tendered the children of Stratford by His Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. W. McMillan) at the Peace celebrations recently. After paying a warm tribute to the work of the Now Zealanders in the late war, ho concluded with the following words : "To the boys and girls I would say: May you ever cherish a Britisher's pride in the Empire to which you have the honour to belong, in the Union Jack which flics over every part of it, the emblem of Liberty and Justice, and proper pride in the little country vliero yon first saw the light .of day. Ever honour the men who fought for you and show your appreciation by your respect, and I think it. would be nice if you boys would forever touch your hat in salute to the wearers of the soldiers' badge of service ; and may you and I never forget our lasting obligation."
