TO AUCKLAND BY RAIL.
Whangamomona Railway Opened. To-day is a red letter day in the Stratford district, another length of the Stratford-Te Koura railway being opened by the Minister of Railways the Hon. W: H. Harries, M.P. A special train left Stratford this morning conveying the Minister, the Mayor of Stratford, Mr J. B, Hine, M.P., and a number of leading citizens, the opening ceremony being timed for noon. To-night a social and reception is to be tendered the Minister in the Whangamomona Town Hall, when it is expected that some mention will be made of the time when the settlers can expect the line completed through to Ta Tue uncompleted distance is something like 40 miles at the present time.
