LADIES' HOCKEY TOURNAMENT.
Patea Wins the Cup
The Ladies' H >ckey team j .'urnsyed to Hawera on Wednesday and took part in the South Taranaki Hockey Tournament held tberft that day. The following club» were represented : —Hawera, Patea, Hawera District High School, Manaia, Stratford and Kaponga. Games of 15 mias duration each ware player!, the Patea team playing each of tlia teams in the competition, winning three outright and drawing with the remaining two, only one goal being scored against them during the competition. The victories scared were over Manaia, Hawera, Kaponga, the drawn games being with Hawera High School and the Stratford teams. The Patea team was fortunate enough in coming out with the best record and they now hold the Silver Cup presented for competition. The Hawera High School proved the lunners up.
The Patoa (earn consisted of Misses V, Jacomb (captain), Ward (3) Carey (4), Horner, Beamish and Watkins, all df whom played sterling games throughout the day,
