| On the 9a m. train from Waverley this morning', one of the Wes lin "house brake 1 pipes blow oat between Wa'erloy and the j Racecourse. The train wasstoppo ! for a 1 few minutes while a new pipe was substituted, This morning a skating carnival was organised to raise funds for the Wavcrloy Fi:o Brigade, It is to bo ied on Wednesday next and will lie open bote afternoon and evening. Fa' cy 'drosses may be worn in the evening. Mr J. W, Fimuerson has gemr.arsly offeree! to supply to the committee skates free of charge, lu view of the fact that the brigade is so sorely in hoed of money, the public will, no doubt, support the effort that is now being made on the Brigade’s behalf.
