EGMONT LICENSING COMMITTEE.

Stratford, June G. At a long sitting of tho Egmont Limn sing Committee, extension to 11 o’clock licenses were refused. The application was supported by Mr 0. Samuel, solicitor, of New Plymouth, and Messrs Malone andFookos, Stratford solicitors. The police strongly opposed the appli, cation. Mr Wake, solicitor of Stratfordwho represented the various temperance organisations, also opposed. Mr Stanford, S.M-, said he was satisfied that the public feeling was against the extension, and accordingly refused to grant it. The Court was crowded.
