Ex-Major Estorhazy, in a signed interview published in The Times, confessed that ho wrote the bordereau at the late Colonel Samlhorr’s instigation. He denounced the General Staff as “ a pack of miserable scoundrels.” Esterhazy exhibited to the interviewer letters from friends of the parties appealing for silence. Court of Cassation Verdict. Favourable to Dreyfus. Pacts, June 3. The Court of Cassation lias quashed the first judgment and ordered a fresh Court-Martial to meet at Rennes to decide if in 1894 Dreyfus practised machinations against France, or communicated information to any foreign power with a view of inducing hostilities, or furnished the documents enumerated in the famous hordcrc ca. The Court held that the communication to the Court-Martial of secret documents containing the words canaille de et has since been regarded as inapplicable to Dreyfus, and constituted a new fact tending to prove his innocence. The Court held that the analysis of writing exports and papermakers tended to show that Dreyfus did not write the bordereau, while his alleged confession did not amount to an admission of guilt. The seizure of Esterhazy’s two letters written on paper resembling that on which the bordereau was written, together with the declaration that he never used such paper, influenced the Court, though Estorhazy is not lamed in the judgment. Paris is tranquil, and there is no excitement.
